The Account Development Specialist is a vital position in the company who will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all aspects of mechanical security systems to national multi-site operations in Retail, Restaurants and Cannabis markets. The Account Development Specialist is a part of the company’s dynamic and highly respected sales team representing their “Customer First” culture and company vision.  The qualified candidate will have a proven job history and experience in program and process development, discovery, estimation, project development and presenting valued solutions. This position will report to and work directly with the Vice President of Sales & Marketing and other Business Development Managers within the company.

Job Summary for Account Development Specialist

 The primary function of the Account Development Specialist is to be the SME on all aspects for the mechanical security systems and processes. As the lead Account Development Specialist, this position will be responsible from definition through fulfillment of products and services in the multi-site division. Accountable to assisting sales and business development and their clients through discovery, estimation, project development timelines as well as presenting proposed mechanical security solutions, all while ensuring client expectations. The company will provide training on all mechanical devices, system and project setup through fulfillment, database design and access control, along with project communications and development techniques.

Essential Functions of Account Development Specialist 

  • Become the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for the company and clients
  • Develop long-term client relations and gain an understanding of their business opportunities
  • Creation of project plans, project development, and manage timelines
  • Accurate estimation, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Manage all aspects of the client set-up, database design, and implementation of the mechanical security solutions
  • Implement and present new products and service presentations (both large and small groups) to enhance client relationships
  • Develop best practices and tools for accurate, timely, and effective project management
  • Provide technical support to colleagues to develop profitable value solutions
  • Produce effective communications both written and verbal to clients and in-house personnel
  • Deliver communications both internal and external while working on multiple projects
  • Attend and engage with company’s technical solutions/product training program
  • Collaborate, engage, and be an active team member with other staff in all departments

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities of the Account Development Specialist 

  • Ambitions to be the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for company’s mechanical security systems
  • Successful project experience within B2B environments including; time management skills, processes, project schedules, forecasting, estimations, budget utilization analysis, and accurate order entry
  • Advanced Excel and knowledge of Office365
  • Effective communications, presentation and organizational skills
  • Work schedule flexibility as operation needs require; including extended hours and weekends
  • Will require monthly travel, including overnight up to 25% of the time

Training and Experience Requirements for the Account Development Specialist 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years project development experience within a B2B environment
  • Track record of solutions-based project development experience in a B2B environment
  • Ability to understand and anticipate client’s needs, provide solutions and grow relationships
  • Exceptional communications, presentation and organizational skills
  • Highly skilled at Excel and knowledge of Office365
  • Database management , HubSpot CRM experience a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
