Accounting Leadership Position (0188)

Location: Westminster, Maryland
Responsibilities:
- Help CFO lead a department of 10 accounting/IT team
- Help manage the accuracy and productivity of day to day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting
- Help provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, product costing, etc. when necessary
- Help with the production of the annual budget and forecasts; provide financial analyses as needed, specifically for capital investments
- Help provide warm leadership environment among the accounting/IT department staff; this includes coaching, training, and team building
- Recommend process and procedure improvements in coordination with the CFO
- Interface with outside audit firms, banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agents, credit card companies, and collection agencies
- Provide proactive positive interactions with related divisions and companies.
- Help CFO develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial records for four division leadership teams
- Provide good communication to these groups of “internal customers” regarding accounting and business issues
- Supporting CFO in her efforts to continuously improve accounting processes and procedures among the four operating divisions and the “internal customers” who operate them; this includes coaching training, and team building as well
- Teaching “internal customers” best practices and improvements in daily accounting activities at their remote locations
- Some travel by car is necessary between locations (most are within 15 minutes to 1 hour away from our main office in Westminster)
- Learn & assume any other administrative duties assigned by the CFO
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and/or equivalent experience
- Great Plains software experience
- Ability to calculate figures related to bookkeeping, budgets, statistical analysis, and ROI projections
- Ideally, successful candidate will live in Carroll County (but not required)
