A Denver-based high security lock/key management solution provider is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM). The BDM is a vital member of the Sales team who leads the company in identifying business opportunities, building long-term relationships with new and existing clientele ensuring the company reaches its full revenue and product potential.  The BDM is an important part of the company’s dynamic and highly respected team who represents a “Customer First” culture and company vision.  This position reports to and works closely with the Vice President of Sales and Marketing.   

Job Summary for the Business Development Manager 

The primary function of the BDM will be to develop new and existing upside business solutions that increases the company’s market presence and revenues/profits with a $2M annual revenue objective.  This includes B2B selling in the Retail and Restaurant multi-channel market space. The BDM will be experienced working with CRM systems, MS Office, extensive forecasting, proposals and estimates.  You will function in a collaborative team environment working with the Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Sales Support personnel.  

Essential Functions of the Business Development Manager 

  • Produce sales from new and existing business
  • Accountable for relationship building, account cultivation, upselling and managing approximately 50 existing accounts
  • Become the Subject Matter Expert to clientele by researching clientele, providing needs analysis, identifying new business solution opportunities within facilities, loss prevention and security divisions of their firm
  • Develop and build key long-term relationships with senior level business decision makers in the Retail and Restaurant multi-channel markets
  • Generate new business development and client opportunities of approximately 250+ prospects through networking and other lead generation channels
  • Present individually or in a group setting the value of company programs
  • Screen, pre-qualify inbound leads effectively
  • Collaborate with the company’s management team to strategize and develop new value-added services
  • Stay current with industry, market, competition, and latest technological developments
  • Estimate, prepare and negotiate solution sales contracts
  • Develop ways to improve the customer experience and build brand loyalty
  • Attend and participate in 6-9 annual trade shows
  • Attend weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly company meetings

Training and Experience Requirements for the Business Development Manager 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong and proven track record and history in B2B solution sales
  • Success with quota achievement of $1M+
  • Experienced B2B solution sales and business development preferred
  • Preferred B2B sales to a multi-site enterprise solution selling within Retail or Restaurants
  • Proven B2B multi-year history of success in new business development and effective at upselling existing clientele
  • Proficient in CRM, MSOffice with strong excel and outlook expertise
  • Monthly national travel up to 50% participating in sales/demos/trade shows and client meetings
  • Facilities Management or Retail Loss Prevention experience highly desirable
